I don't know which month comes in like a lion and leaves like a lamb, but for me it was February. Actually this whole indoor season could be described by that statement. I came into this month ready to PR from 8 Lefts (anything over 5.25m) and then move to 9 lefts and PR there by February 23rd. Welllllll, that did not happen. Sometime between 1/29-2/5 I twisted/tweaked my knee. That cut into my jumping/practice schedule, and chasing an indoor qualifier could have been my mistake. But I did take a week off and it did not really help. Nothing helped really, so I have just decided to train with it and be careful. Either way I have to capitalize on my meets as much I have learned to capitalize in practice. I have PR'd from every step except 8 lefts. For example at the beginning of the year I jumped 13'6" from 3 lefts, I jumped 13' from from 2 this week. So there is evident improvement, even with a hurt knee. However not jumping 5.55m before today was a huge disappointment. But the best part about it all, is that I can forget about the past and look toward the future. Thank God for that.
I have one more meet Tonight at Grand Valley again. Then I plan on going back to Illinois to get healthy and strong for the Outdoor season (Mid-April). Thanks to to everyone for the support.
